Only The Bitch Knows

Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun Episode 08

Despite the fact I found this episode much more tame in humor in comparison to the wacky structure of the previous ones, it was some how much more funny to me because the jokes were in a neat order. At first, I found that the episode was beginning to bore me solely because it was focusing on nothing relating to story progression. In all actuality, this is more of a filler episode then one that contributes to the plot itself. It felt empty in some places, but I still couldn’t help to enjoy it.

Reika was missing the majority of this episode, yet she still ended up being completely owned by the other female characters. This was oddly ironic in some way since many of those girl characters have yet to really show their potential. Much of what we see is some random fan service moments, and Shungo doing what he does best… getting screwed over. The formula is all there for a mediocre display, though I can’t say I hope for more then that as the weeks go on. I feel as if the series is slowly slipping in that direction even if it is a bit early to say as such. That, or I just find it getting old far too quick.

I’m always waiting for the next chapter where there is some development instead of pranks, lousy jokes, or fan service. Sure, it is an ecchi comedy, so I know I have to have my patience in check yet some weeks I feel that I don’t want to watch this show. I believe this is solely because it isn’t a pick-me-up, but instead another block of anime that needs to be watched before I can get to the next show. It makes it really hard to write anything sometimes, so I guess this is my scapegoat of a show. I’ll continue to try and write if there is something worth saying, but a lot of times there isn’t a lot of depth to speak of.

Cheap laughs are nice though, I don’t mind them, but after awhile it bores me even if I did like the episode.
