Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun Episode 09

I earnestly thought taking a long break from this series would allow me to enjoy it like I did when it first started. However it’s almost like there is no entertainment to be found anymore. Sure, it’s not a horrible series, but every episode delivers the same thing. While this certain one had a little twist at the end, it was predictable and seemed like it had already happened beforehand. I miss laughing when I watch, instead I point out things that are distasteful to me or merely giggle at the pure idiocy—not the jokes that are made. I have a feeling as to why the series is twelve episodes because it truly is the same thing over and over.

I have always adored the plot for it’s simplicity yet its uniqueness. The problem though is the fact it doesn’t try, it more or less flounders in front of you with whatever idea they can pull outta the dish. I apologize to people who really loved this show, but am I only one to notice it’s merely replaying the same episode again and again besides a few spoofs here and there? It did have a few moments, certainly seeing a mimic of Snake (or The Hotness as I call him) from Metal Gear Solid struck my funny bone, but everything else seemed too far-fetched to even get near the same spot. I guess the laughter part is just turned off in my mind, who knows.

While introducing these new characters and placing them in a flashback is kind of intriguing, it seems far too convenient. Almost as if the creators wanted to find the quickest way to finish twelve episodes without getting too deep into the plot. I can understand this, I’m sure anyone who has watched shorter anime can, but I feel its downfalls are just due to laziness. It’s not fun to see something you once adored turn into slothfulness. As I said beforehand, it might just be me. It’s probably why I haven’t gotten up to actually watch the series, and make the effort to blog it.

I was prepared before starting Ninomiya-kun for ecchi shots and teasing motions to the fan boys. It’s natural in a show like this yet there must be some other jokes you can find other then a peepshow here or a perverted mention there. I guess much of my opinion deprives from the fact that these characters attend a ninja school because for some odd reason almost everyone can run faster then the speed of light and climb tall mountains. I can understand one or two characters because they’re special or they’ve been trained, but this pure DragonBall Z bullcrap where everyone can leap around like they’re Spiderman just plain sucks. I mean seriously, I don’t personally enjoy that because it makes no sense and doesn’t add to the story at all (unless you’re the type who likes the whole let’s drag out this battle for ten episodes kind of thing).

I’ll still wait to see what remains in the last three episodes, but I sure as hell hope they’re able to pick up a little something called depth in the mean time. I feel just as confused as Shungo when his friends are going buck wild over their own perversion. I do realize that this was certainly my time to utterly rant and rave about the series, it doesn’t mean I hate it or even greatly dislike it. It just began to turn meh, and meh doesn’t have a solid place anywhere. What’s really ironic is that when I blogged the first episode I said that this kind of show was my cup of tea. I’m guessing I was drinking milk and it turned sour.
