And here I thought this series would start to get mundane and repetitive, well… go ahead and kick me cause I had two misconceptions. The first I’m actually happy about. Not only did this show provide a new way for laughs besides perverted moments, but it was truly laugh out loud funny. It brought a new form of jokes, and it wasn’t focused solely on Shungo and Mayu, but instead Reika’s and Mayu’s interaction. I would honestly like to see more of the latter because while Reika still has her rage, it’s more keenly placed due to the fact she has a reason for it since Mayu is not the brightest bulb out there. Shugo Chara! Volume One Review

I usually don’t read a lot of manga unless it’s yaoi, so don’t expect these kind of discussions a lot. I just felt I should give something extra considering I’ve been quite slow and busy lately (and to partly make up for my fansub group for Gundam 00). I was a bit disappointed with myself not making the commitment to blog Shugo Chara because it’s another series I’m honestly enjoying this season besides Clannad. Any childish vibes it’s sending out I don’t necessarily receive considering I still go back and watch Sailor Moon in English as if it was a normal occurrence. It’s fun and light, along with a decent style and somewhat unique plot which adapts rather nicely from its manga counterpart if not for a few changes. Continue reading Shugo Chara! Gosh, so much seemed to happen in this episode I had to skim it after I had watched it to feel comfortable writing a decent review. I guess that means because I enjoyed it so much considering it was a nice balance of comedy and the introduction to Fuko’s arch. Yes, she’ll be the first if my name isn’t Kanashimi (which technically it isn’t, it’s just an internet alias); regardless, they make obvious hints concerning her character including a bit of her past. I was a bit reluctant to let the ghost story affect my thinking of the sweet, child-like character—in all actuality, when I heard of a car wreck and hospital I thought Ayu from Kanon for obvious reasons yet they are clearly different. Guess I’m a sucker for songs with English lyrics despite the fact they’re from Japan. How strange is that? Then again, I’m the type of watcher who will sing the song in English while watching solely because I feel more in tune with a song when I understand its message besides the beats or tempo. Code-E Season Two Confirmed

Okay, so I had to make an entry about this as soon as I spotted this news. I’m all giddy inside because it has been confirmed that Code-E will get their deserved second season (so we don’t have to suffer through that cliffhanger from hell). Sure, I never thought the series was spectacular, but it had this nice soft feel to it that was pretty rare. I certainly thought that at times the show went dangerously slow, if not painfully so. Regardless, I need to know what happened. I’m a sucker for cliffhangers, you give me one and I go nuts trying to divulge what will happen next (it’s probably why I’m still a fan of that terrible show, LOST, that killed off my favorite character). Despite being gone on family business, I found out upon my return that this entry and the one on Gundam 00 would have been late anyway. For Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun I would’ve been stuck waiting for the h264 version which was released earlier yesterday (which was when I wrote this; was just too exhausted to take screenshots). Not only that, the fansubbers I get Gundam 00 from had an unfortunate accident concerning a car, garbage, and their translator. So, whenever they return or release their version of episode three, then I will nab it and make sure to blog it ASAP (my condolences by the way to GundamSnet and I hope their translator well—I hope you sue the pants off that crazy driver!). Clannad Episode 03

In all honesty I have little to say about this episode considering the fact that the majority of it was comedy. Probably 75% of the episode was as such, not that I mind since they were generally funny jokes, but story progression did go down a bit. I can’t say it bothers me since it was still enjoyable nonetheless. Sunohara still remains the bud of many jokes, but much of it heads towards Tomoya for once, which is kind of nice to see. Many side characters were introduced today, so luckily the girl introductions have quelled which is a sigh of relief on my side. Continue reading Clannad Episode 03…
